DESCRIPTION:Ever wondered what Muir Woods is like after the park closes?\n\
nJoin us on our free evening tour to explore what keeps the redwood forest
awake when we go to sleep. Step outside your comfort zone and into the an
cient\, nocturnal setting of Muir Woods for this two-hour\, two-mile walk.
\n\nAfter all\, we're only visitors in a place where countless animals cal
l home - and many are more are crepuscular (active at dusk and dawn) or fu
lly nocturnal (active at night). By learning about what animals are in the
forest and when\, we can better understand how to protect and appreciate
	the whole ecosystem.\n\nThe night tour is a 2-mile round-trip ranger-led w
alk in Muir Woods National Monument using the Redwood Creek and Hillside t
rails. Redwood creek is the primary\, highly accessible trail. It is flat
with boardwalk and pavement. The Hillside trail is a 0.5-mile trail that r
uns parallel to Redwood Creek trail. It elevates about 50 feet from Redwoo
d Creek trail\, flattens out\, and then descends back into Redwood Creek t
rail. It is slightly narrow with steep drop offs in some areas with expose
d tree roots.\n\nGroups can reserve up to 6 people. While the program is f
ree\, entry to Muir Woods is $15 per person and free for those under the a
ge of 16. Registration opens at 8AM two weeks before the program date.\n\n
Fee info: The program is free\, but visitors to Muir Woods must make a par
king reservation and pay park entry at GoMuirWoods.com. Annual and lifetim
e park passes can be used to waive entry fees but not parking reservations
.\n\nRegistration: Registration is free but required and will open two wee
ks before the event. The event is capped at 30 participants.\n\nRegister:
