DESCRIPTION:The sunrise orientation features a brief overview of the summit
	 area\, important rules for visiting the park\, and the cultural significa
	nce of this sacred place. The orientation talk may be followed by an oli\,
	 or Hawaiian chant\, to welcome the rising sun and the beginning of a new 
	day.\n\nFee info: There is no fee to attend the sunrise orientation. Howev
	er\, all visitors entering the Summit District for sunrise must have an ad
	vance sunrise reservation ($1) and pay the park entrance fee ($30 per priv
	ate vehicle).\n\nRegistration: There is no registration required to attend
	 the sunrise orientation. However\, all visitors planning on entering the 
	park for sunrise must have an advance sunrise reservation via recreation.g

DESCRIPTION:Haleakalā offers ranger-led night sky programs weekly throughou
	t the year! Join a team of rangers to learn about the night sky above Hale
	akalā. Program topics vary by ranger\, but often weave together elements o
	f astronomy\, wayfinding\, dark sky preservation\, and moʻolelo (story). \
	n\n \n\nWhat to Expect\n\nA 30–45-minute ranger talk\, including the use o
	f a green laser pointer to point out different features of the night sky. 
	Depending on conditions\, this talk will be followed by 30-45 minutes of t
	elescope viewing.\n\n \n\nWhat to Bring\n\nChairs or a blanket\, as seatin
	g is not provided\n\nMany warm\, waterproof layers\, as (even in the summe
	r!) nighttime is typically around 40°F (4°C)\n\nAny food and drink you may
	 want. There is no food available for purchase in the Summit District\, al
	though there is a water bottle filling station near the program area. \n\n
	AVOID bringing white light\, as this will impact your night vision. Red li
	ght is provided in the program area.\n\nAccessibility Information\n\nThis 
	program takes place at 9\,740 ft above sea level\, so do not plan on atten
	ding this program if you have a health condition triggered by rapid elevat
	ion increase or went diving in the past 18 hours.  Nighttime temperatures 
	regularly dip below 40°F (4°C). To get to the program location\, it is a ~
	100 ft (30 m) walk from your car up a paved\, ADA accessible ramp. The pro
	gram area is paved but does not include any seating. Rangers at the visito
	r center are available for any additional questions. \n\n \n\nAdditional N
	otes\n\nThis event is weather-dependent and may be canceled due to unsafe 
	or unfavorable conditions. Arrive early for the program\, especially durin
	g holiday weekends.\nDo not smoke\, drink alcohol\, or bring any pets to t
