DESCRIPTION:Commemorate the 172nd anniversary of the rendition of Anthony B
urns at Faneuil Hall with the National park Service.\n\nIn May of 1854 fed
eral marshals arrested Anthony Burns under the 1850 Fugitive Slave Law. Im
mediately following Burns’ arrest\, Bostonians gathered at Faneuil Hall on
May 26th 1854 to discuss whether they would abide by this federal law or
appeal to a higher law of freedom and liberty for all. The eyes of the nat
ion were firmly fixed upon Boston.\n\nJoin the National Parks of Boston at
the Great Hall in Faneuil Hall as we recreate this historic meeting on th
e 172nd anniversary. Rocking the Cradle is free and open to the public for
all ages. The program begins at 5:30 PM. Pre-registration is highly encou
